Daily pet care
Morning
Feed big birds
Dump bagged food marked “AM” into bucket and stir
Pour into 4 or 5 piles in the run
Look around for duck eggs
Make sure water is topped off in the pans
You can rinse now or in the evening — just make sure pans are rinsed and filled once a day
Feed chicks
Take feed bag marked “Chicks” down to run at bottom of hill — put in the hanging feed basket
Check water level — bring a gallon down to fill the 5-gallon bucket if needed
Rabbit
Make sure he has grain
Check his water
Check that he has hay
Feed dogs
Eddie — 1½ cup kibble + 1 egg + 1 squirt fish oil
O’Neill — 1⅓ cup kibble + 1 egg + 1 squirt fish oil
Xayla — let out for a few minutes, then back in
Feed cats
Barnaby — a little less than a scoop of food outside on the green bench
Make sure he has water too
Ikari — full bowl of food from the metal can next to the food bowl (he’ll likely take 2 days to finish it)
Make sure he has water
Scoop his litter and throw it in the little can with the grocery bags (above litterbox)
Evening
Feed big birds
Get last bucket of fermented food and spread around in run
Put some of the liquid into one of the metal bins for the ducks
Water check — if rinsed this morning, just fill; if not, rinse and fill now
Collect eggs and bring inside — baskets on the shelf above the metal feed cans
Pour bagged food labeled “PM” into the bucket just used, add about ⅓ bucket of water, and stir
Stir the rest of the buckets
Check on chicks
They should be fine — just go take a look
Feed dogs
Eddie — same as AM (1½ cup kibble + 1 egg + 1 squirt fish oil)
O’Neill — same as AM (1⅓ cup kibble + 1 egg + 1 squirt fish oil)
Xayla — same as AM (let out, then back in)
Feed Barnaby
Same as AM — a little less than a scoop on the green bench
He might beg for more — a little extra is OK, but not too much (birds will come steal it)
Ikari check-in
He should be OK — but feel free to go hang out with him if you want
Important notes:
Eddie has a radial system collar on and cannot go past the front door walkway. Please feed him in the driveway by the arched arbor in the garden.
O’Neill can be fed on the front porch
Pick up the dog bowls whenever it’s convenient for you and rinse them in the side entry bathroom sink.
